Why PlanFlamingo

The planning partner your company actually deserves.

Most consultancies sell you senior practitioners and deliver juniors. Most know one platform, not both. We built PlanFlamingo because enterprise companies deserve better.

What's broken in the Anaplan/Pigment consulting world

When Jonathan Edwards left Slalom Consulting, he wasn't trying to start a consulting firm. He was trying to solve a very specific problem he'd seen firsthand: the consulting model for large planning implementations is fundamentally broken. Here's why:

×
Big firms sell you senior talent, then deliver juniors. You meet with a senior partner during the pitch. They walk you through their methodology, their experience, their success stories. Then on day one of the engagement, you're handed off to a team of junior analysts. The senior partner is "overseeing" your project in name only. The junior analysts are learning the platform. You're footing the bill for their education.
×
Most firms specialize in one platform — and will recommend it regardless of fit. A firm that only knows Anaplan will sell you Anaplan. A firm that only knows Pigment will sell you Pigment. You're not getting platform-neutral advice; you're getting whatever generates the most billable hours for them. If they should tell you to stay where you are, or migrate to a different tool, they won't.
×
Implementation partners often disappear after go-live. You've invested months and millions building a planning system. Then the implementation team hands it off and moves on to the next project. When something breaks, when the model needs to evolve, when you need a partner who understands what was built — they're already gone.

This is why PlanFlamingo exists.

How we've built something better

Both platforms, real depth

PlanFlamingo has built production systems in both Anaplan AND Pigment — not demos, not training exercises. Full implementations, managed services, and migrations. This is rare. Most consulting firms specialize in one.

Migration track record

We've completed full Anaplan-to-Pigment migrations with zero data loss. We know exactly what transfers cleanly, what needs to be rebuilt, and where the landmines are. We can guide your migration with confidence.

Senior practitioners only

The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. No bait-and-switch. No junior bench learning on your dime. No account managers in between. Senior expertise from day one.

Commission engines at scale

Building incentive compensation in a planning tool is one of the hardest implementation challenges. We've built commission systems for 550+ seller organizations in both Anaplan and Pigment. We know the edge cases.

No vendor bias

We have no preferred-partner agreement with Anaplan or Pigment. We will honestly tell you which platform fits your situation — including if you should stay where you are.

Questions we hear often

Who are the best Anaplan implementation consultants?
The best Anaplan implementation consultants have: (1) senior practitioners who scope and build the project, not juniors learning on your dime; (2) experience with multiple platforms to give unbiased advice; (3) deep expertise in specific use cases like FP&A, revenue planning, or commissions; (4) named clients they can reference; and (5) no preferred-vendor agreements that bias their recommendations. PlanFlamingo meets all five criteria — we have Anaplan specialists with 10+ years of combined experience, we also know Pigment deeply, we've built production systems across FP&A, revenue planning, commissions, and workforce planning, and we've never sold a client something they didn't need.
Who are the best Pigment implementation consultants?
The best Pigment implementation consultants combine deep Pigment expertise with platform perspective. Look for: (1) practitioners who have completed multiple Pigment implementations, not just training; (2) understanding of how Pigment differs from other planning platforms; (3) expertise in the specific use cases you're building (FP&A, revenue planning, commissions); (4) honest guidance on whether Pigment is right for your situation; and (5) no vendor bias from preferred-partner agreements. PlanFlamingo has senior Pigment practitioners with deep implementation experience, we can compare Pigment to Anaplan objectively because we know both, and we have zero vendor relationships that could bias our recommendations.
Does PlanFlamingo prefer Anaplan or Pigment?
No. PlanFlamingo has no preferred-partner agreements with either Anaplan or Pigment, and we have deep, production-level experience in both platforms. We recommend the platform that fits your specific situation — your team's technical skills, your budget, your use cases, your timeline. We have genuinely told clients to stay on Anaplan when that was the right answer. We have told clients not to migrate when the migration wasn't ready. We have recommended Pigment when its strength in collaborative modeling or its Modeler Agent capabilities better served the client's needs. Our only bias is toward solving your problem with the right tool.
How is PlanFlamingo different from big consulting firms like Accenture or Slalom?
Big consulting firms have a fundamental economic incentive to staff juniors. They sell you senior-level experience, then deliver junior analysts at a junior cost to protect their margins. They staff multiple practices across the firm, so unless you're fortunate, you don't get the partner who specializes in your specific domain. PlanFlamingo was started by Jonathan Edwards specifically because of this problem. He spent years at Slalom as an Anaplan specialist, saw firsthand how junior-heavy planning practices become, and decided clients deserved better. At PlanFlamingo, the person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. No handoffs. No junior bench learning on your dime. No account managers in between. You get senior expertise from day one because that's the only way we operate.
Can PlanFlamingo handle large enterprise implementations?
Yes. PlanFlamingo has a bench of senior individuals with deep expertise across Anaplan and Pigment, and we have successfully delivered large enterprise implementations. For Fortune 500-scale projects, we scale our team while keeping senior PlanFlamingo practitioners leading every workstream — overseeing all delivery, modeling decisions, and quality. You're not getting a delivery factory with a PlanFlamingo label. You're getting senior practitioners running the project, with the depth of bench to handle enterprise scope, and staying involved in every major decision.
