What we collect, and what we do with it

1. Who we are and what this covers

PlanFlamingo ("we," "us") is a consulting firm based in Greenville, South Carolina. We implement and support Anaplan and Pigment planning platforms for finance, revenue, and HR teams.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through planflamingo.com and when you contact us, book a call, take our assessment, or subscribe to our emails. It does not cover the data our clients entrust to us during an engagement. That is governed by the contract for that engagement (see section 10).

2. What we collect

Information you give us

• Email and correspondence. When you write to hello@planflamingo.com or reply to one of our emails, we keep your name, email address, and the content of the correspondence.
• Booking a call. Our contact page embeds Calendly. When you book, Calendly collects your name, email address, the time you chose, and any notes you add, and passes them to us. Calendly's own privacy policy applies to its widget.
• The 3-minute assessment. Your answers are saved as you go under a random session identifier so we can improve the questions and see how people use the tool. You do not have to give us your email to see your result. If you ask for the written breakdown, we also collect your first name, work email, and company.
• Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to our newsletter or a content series, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. Asking for an assessment breakdown does not subscribe you to anything; that is a separate choice.

Information collected automatically

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and where they come from. It collects your device and browser type, pages viewed, approximate location, and how you arrived at the site, using cookies. Details in section 4.
• Server logs. Our site is hosted on Vercel, which records standard web server information such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested.
• Assessment context. When you use the assessment, we record the page you came from, any campaign tags in the link you clicked, and your IP address with the approximate city, region, and country our hosting provider derives from it. We use this to tell real usage from bots and to understand where interest comes from.

We do not collect payment card details, government identifiers, or sensitive categories of personal information through this site.

3. How we use it

• To respond when you contact us, and to run the call you booked.
• To send the assessment breakdown you asked for. That is one email written by us, not an automated sequence.
• To send the newsletter or content you subscribed to, each of which includes an unsubscribe link.
• To follow up with you about our services if you have contacted us or asked for the breakdown, in a way that is reasonable for a business conversation. You can tell us to stop at any time.
• To understand how the site and the assessment are used, and to improve them.
• To keep the site secure, detect abuse, and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

4. Cookies and analytics

The site sets cookies for one purpose: Google Analytics. Those cookies help us count visits, see which pages are read, and distinguish new from returning visitors. Google processes this data on our behalf under its privacy policy. We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or social media trackers.

Two other services load on specific pages and may set their own cookies: Calendly on the contact page, and Google Fonts, which serves the site's typefaces from Google's servers and receives your IP address in the process.

To opt out of Google Analytics, install Google's browser opt-out add-on or block cookies in your browser settings. The site works with cookies disabled.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that run parts of our operation, and only for the purposes above.

We may also share information with our professional advisers, when the law requires it, or as part of a sale or merger of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to the information transferred.

6. How long we keep it

• Assessment records: up to 24 months after your last interaction, unless you become a client or ask us to delete them sooner.
• Correspondence and booking details: for as long as we have a business reason to keep them, which for an active conversation is the life of that conversation and any engagement that follows.
• Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. Email privacy@planflamingo.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the newsletter; it does not stop us replying to you if you write to us.

We extend these choices to everyone who uses the site, whether or not a specific privacy law applies to you. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising them.

8. If you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland

We are based in the United States, and the providers listed in section 5 process data there. When we handle personal information from the EU, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases: performing a contract or taking steps you asked for before one (responding to you, running a booked call); our legitimate interest in running and improving the site and in following up on business inquiries; and your consent for email subscriptions, which you can withdraw at any time.

Transfers to the United States are made under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, the UK addendum to them, or another lawful mechanism, depending on the provider. In addition to the choices in section 7, you have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest, to ask for your data in a portable format, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and the providers we use encrypt data in transit and at rest. Access to the systems that hold your information is limited to the people who need it to do the work described here. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without authorization, but if that happens we will tell the people affected as the law requires.

10. Client project data

During an engagement, our clients give us access to planning data that can include information about their employees, such as names, roles, quotas, and compensation. We handle that data as a service provider on the client's instructions, under the master services agreement, statement of work, and any data processing terms for that engagement. Those agreements, not this policy, govern how that data is used, protected, and returned. Questions about a specific engagement should go to the client's own privacy contact.

11. Children

This site is for business use and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the bottom of this page. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email where we have one.
